Golfing opportunities abound locally. 20 minutes away are the 36 holes of Zell am See G.C., the Kitzteinhorn and Schmittenhohe layouts. English professional, beautifully maintained courses with an excellent restaurant. Green fees discounted to €50 per day (ask at reception for details) . A little further afield at Saalfelden (40 minutes drive) are the renowned Urslautal and Brandlhof courses whilst half way to Salzburg is Goldegg G.C. Check them out at www.golf-alpin.com .
Mountain bikers will love being linked into the Pinzgau biking network with over 750kms of trails. There are many annual events from May-October including 'Glockner Koenig', King of the Gross Glockner Mountain (Austria's highest peak) for the ultimate challenge. Getting to Rauris
Cheap flights to Salzburg (60 mins by car) go from Stansted (Ryanair), Gatwick (Easyjet, Thomas Cook & BA), Bournemouth, Luton, Manchester and Doncaster (ThomsonFly), Birmingham (Thomas Cook) and Leeds/Bradford (Jet2). Other airport options are Munich and Klagenfurt (2 hrs plus). Try www.zugu.co.uk , www.skyscanner.net , www.jet2.com , www.thomsonfly.com . Budget, Avis, Hertz and Europcar all operate from the friendly and efficient Salzburg terminal. The cheapest car hire is usually from local firms Buchbinder and Denzel, bookable through www.auto-europe.co.uk or www.atlaschoice.com . Head towards Villach on the A10 motorway, turn onto the 311 towards Zell am See, then exit for Rauris in Taxenbach. If you have satnav, enter Poserweg 5, Rauris. Bus or train to nearby Taxenbach is also feasible - take the airport shuttle (Bus No.2 every 10 mins) into Salzburg. www.oebb.at is the Austrian Railways site. A very reasonable taxi fare direct to Rauris (€ 99 each way for up to 8 passengers) can be sourced from www.transferservice.at .

Payments should be made in Pounds Sterling or Euros by personal cheque, CHAPS or IBAN Bank Transfer. Terms :- £100 or €110 deposit to secure booking ; balance in full 8 weeks before start of the rental. £200 or €220 for potential damages should also be sent with the balance (returned within 2 weeks of vacation end subject to inventory check).
The reservation deposit, once paid, is not refundable. Should you cancel your booking after paying the balance we will endeavour to re-let the property and if successful a full refund of the balance will be made. If re-letting proves impossible a sliding scale will apply. If you cancel between 4 and 8 weeks prior to rental we will refund 50% of the balance, between 2 and 4 weeks 25% but with less than 2 weeks notice we regret no refund will be given.
